KERRY + JEFF
There is something especially sacred about watching two people find one another later in life. Not rushed. Not naïve. Not searching for fantasy, but arriving at love with weathered hands, softened hearts, lived grief, and the kind of devotion that only comes from truly understanding how fleeting life can be. Kerry and Jeff carried that kind of love. The steady kind. The grateful kind. The kind that feels less like fireworks and more like finally coming home.
SATURDAY, MARCH 5TH, 2022

Their wedding day unfolded quietly and beautifully between the rolling Texas Hill Country and the warm wooden glow of Quihi Gun Club & Dance Hall. Nestled in LaCoste, Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church stood timeless and reverent beneath the wide Texas sky as vows were exchanged in the presence of God, family, memory, and legacy. The ceremony itself remained deeply intimate, attended by a close gathering of roughly fifty family members and loved ones whose presence felt less like spectators and more like active witnesses to the life Kerry and Jeff had built together.
MATURE LOVE TRANSFORMS FROM SOMETHING WE FEEL INTO SOMETHING WE ARE.

As the evening unfolded, the celebration expanded outward into something far more communal at Quihi Gun Club & Dance Hall - a historic Texas dance hall glowing beneath strings of dim amber lights and the familiar warmth of old wood and country music. Unlike the quiet intimacy of the ceremony, the reception carried the energy of an open-door Texas celebration, with nearly two hundred guests drifting in and out throughout the evening.

It was an absolute honor to document Kerry and Jeff’s wedding day and to witness a love so grounded in devotion, friendship, faith, family, and genuine joy. Their celebration was filled with so many beautiful little moments that deserve to be lingered over a while longer.

Every detail felt deeply personal. Kerry wore modest white heels beneath a stunning gown that once belonged to her mother - a piece of family history transformed into something living again. Her hair and makeup were done intimately by a close friend, filling the getting-ready hours with laughter, tenderness, and familiarity instead of spectacle.
GETTING READY

The church carried a kind of sacred stillness to it with sunlight filtering softly through stained glass, quiet prayers exchanged beneath vaulted ceilings, generations gathered shoulder-to-shoulder in reverence not only for marriage itself, but for everything it took to arrive there. As traditional vows were exchanged beneath the sanctuary light, the sound of live mariachis carried through the church with a kind of reverence that felt both celebratory and deeply ancestral. Mariachi music has long been woven into Mexican and Tejano wedding traditions as a way of honoring family, faith, devotion, and the joining of two lives within community, and hearing the violins, trumpets, and soft guitar rhythms echo through the Catholic mass made the ceremony feel timeless in the most beautiful way. There was so much softness threaded into the celebration : Hispanic heritage combined seamlessly beside Texas pride, family stories held alongside prayer, old traditions carried lovingly into the present.
THE CEREMONY

Kerry and Jeff exchanged rings with a beautifully personal twist. Because their life together is rooted so deeply in movement like long bike rides, open roads, shared adventures, and miles traveled side-by-side - the couple most often wear silicone bands in their everyday life. Kerry chose a traditional metal wedding band for the ceremony and portraits, while Jeff’s ring became a quiet reflection of the life they’ve built together beyond the wedding day itself. There was something incredibly special about it; a small detail that transformed ordinary routines into part of their love story and offered everyone a glimpse into the joy, freedom, and companionship blended into their everyday excursions together.
THE RINGS

As Kerry and Jeff made their way out of the church as newlyweds, their family and closest friends poured out behind them in a chorus of whistles, cheers, applause, and laughter that echoed across the church steps and into the Texas sunlight. The moment the ceremony doors opened, the quiet reverence of the sanctuary gave way to pure celebration with tearful hugs exchanged tightly beneath the afternoon sky, excited squeals bouncing between relatives, tiny baby coos tucked between conversations, and clusters of loved ones gathering together for hurried selfies and joyful congratulations before the evening carried everyone onward. This was not some formal exit; it was being wrapped fully inside the warmth of community, family, and collective happiness.
POST-CEREMONY GREETINGS + CONGRATULATIONS

Family portraits came together with far more laughter than formality, the kind of easy chaos that happens when generations who genuinely enjoy one another are gathered together inside such a beautiful and historic church setting. Between rearranging relatives and calling out names, Kerry’s father fully embraced his role as the family jester, keeping everyone laughing with playful commentary, exaggerated posing suggestions, and perfectly timed jokes that dissolved any stiffness almost instantly. What could have felt overly structured instead became deeply heartfelt and full of personality - a series of portraits filled not only with smiles, but with the unmistakable feeling of family history, familiarity, and affection captured in every frame.
WEDDING PARTY PORTRAITS + FAMILY PORTRAITS

As the sun began disappearing behind the hills, Kerry and Jeff slipped naturally into the kind of portraits that suited them best. Sunsets and silhouettes have long been part of their relationship, and they wanted their couple’s portraits to carry that same softness and familiarity. The two of them are wonderfully goofy together and far more comfortable in candid moments than stiff posing, which made photographing them feel effortless. They gravitated instinctively toward laughter, forehead touches, lingering embraces, and spontaneous kisses simply because they genuinely enjoy being close to one another. Every frame carried the feeling of ease, affection, and two people completely at home in each other’s company.
THE COUPLE

Their floral carried a wild Texas elegance : soft daisies, vibrant wax flowers, textured greenery, and bursts of color spilling across bouquets and tables alike. Hand-crafted by Mary Nethery of Nethery Designs, a dear friend of the Bride & Groom, adding an even more personal and deeply emotional touch.

Even their cake felt like an extension of Kerry and Jeff's relationship : understated and joyful, handmade and feeling celebratory without pretense. Sharing a slice of their cake was like sharing in a piece of their love story. It was sweet but not too sugary and perfectly balanced. One of my favorite details of all was the bicycle motif woven throughout their day. Kerry and Jeff live actively, adventurously, side-by-side. Tiny bicycle toppers rested atop their wedding cake.
CAKE

Jeff honored loved ones who had long since passed with a remembrance table filled with framed photographs, keepsakes, and even ashes, quietly bringing them into the room as though absence itself could still sit among family.
LOVE NOTES + LETTERS + CARDS + MEMORIALS

The reception at Quihi Gun Club & Dance Hall felt like stepping directly into the heartbeat of Texas tradition itself : dim twinkle lights hanging overhead, the low hum of conversation and laughter drifting across wooden dance floors, the scent of barbecue lingering in the air while the sun disappeared slowly beyond the hills. Friends, extended family, dance partners, neighbors, and longtime community members filled the hall while Tejano music echoed across the dance floor, barbecue was passed around generously, and laughter rose into the rafters long after sunset. It felt beautifully reflective of who Kerry and Jeff are together: rooted in closeness and devotion, yet endlessly welcoming, joyful, and connected to the people around them.
MIX + MINGLE AFTER PARTY + RECEPTION

As the evening carried on, the dance floor became its own kind of love language. A Tejano band carried the night into movement, boots gliding across worn floorboards as generations danced together beneath amber light. Between rounds of “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” and kids racing excitedly through spins during “Cotton-Eyed Joe,” the hall stayed filled with movement, laughter, and the rhythmic sound of footsteps echoing through the historic dance hall. Tejano love ballads drifted through the evening alongside the faster songs, adding softness and nostalgia to the celebration. Songs like “Amor Eterno” by Juan Gabriel, a deeply emotional ballad about everlasting love and remembrance, and “Como Te Voy a Olvidar” by Los Ángeles Azules, which speaks to the impossibility of forgetting someone who has become part of your soul, wrapped the room in a kind of bittersweet tenderness that felt especially fitting for a wedding so rooted in family, devotion, memory, and enduring connection.
MUSIC + DANCING

A vintage blue 1968 Camaro SS Convertible waited outside beneath the fading light with “Just Married” trailing behind it in ribbons and rattling cans. The powder blue paint, black rear spoiler, and classic convertible silhouette give it that unmistakable vintage Texas muscle-car charm that fit their wedding day beautifully. It felt less like a grand performance and more like an honest reflection of the life they had already built together : playful, enduring, grounded, and full of motion.
THE GETAWAY CAR

Some weddings feel extravagant. Some feel cinematic. But this one felt deeply rooted. In faith. In family. In memory. In culture. In Texas soil. And above all else, in the quiet miracle of finding love exactly when you thought life had already told its story.
