In the Lone Star State, Natives have some pretty unique practices and traditions, important to our heritage and our legacy as Texans. These sacraments are more than local customs but a birthright and expected requirement to qualifying for bragging rights as a “resident.” Being painted burnt orange or maroon to support your side or Alma Mater is as vital to the ebb and flow of the environment as grabbing your family and parading through the sea of Bluebonnets. A road trip to Jacob’s Well and The Castroville Poppy House are a must and taking in Oktoberfest or Wurstfest in New Braunfels is the only way to close out the year. Whichever Texan tradition you would like to explore or exemplify, I will there at your side with camera ready in hand.
